Publisher's description
From Blacktree :Anyone using a computer spends a lot of time locating files and applications and carrying out actions on those items. The Finder is a reasonably good tool for getting a visual overview of the contents of your disk, but it isn't ideal for quickly locating and manipulating files, especially if you have a deep and complicated folder structure, or if you prefer keyboard navigation to using the mouse.
Quicksilver allows you to find what you need quickly and easily, while keeping your hands on the keyboard. For example, if you want to launch an application hidden in the depths of your file system, simply activate Quicksilver with a keystroke, type a few letters of the application's name, then hit Return or Enter to launch it. When you don't need Quicksilver, it keeps out of your way, preserving precious screen real estate, yet you can summon it instantly with a keystroke.

Version: Quicksilver 1.0b42
Pros: If you are used to keyboards, this tool is for you. In a matter of secconds, you can copy and paste files, delete unwanted copies, find a song by genre or name, load / find an application without having a stupid shortcut, access bookmarks to open in your favorite browser.
Cons: I'm still giving this simple tool a 5 stars, yet it's not fully configurable / understandable for the average "everyone", a quick explanation of the tool can be helpfull, there are tutorials online if you look on google.com !

Version: Quicksilver 1.0b42
"easy to use, saves a lot of time"
Pros: easy to set up hot key to activate the program, press enter to run the application chose. User friendly
Cons: too many other files unrelated to the applications (eg. history in safari will show up in search as well). Preference is a bit hard to configure for me (mac beginner).

Version: Quicksilver 1.0b42
"It's like Spotlight with nitro!"
Pros: A quicker way to find files, applications and launching applications. Just type in the relevant file name, and immediately open, cut, paste, email, send, etc... through your mac without having to navigate through windows. It's customizable, and you can specify which folders and areas to search in, thus keeping secret files out of search. You can also specify certain programs with certain hot keys of your choice. There's editional plug-ins available allowing you to increase the functionality of this program. Interfaces with Entourage/Email, iTunes, Adium and even a handy calculator/dictionary plug-in.
Just type open the window, type the word in question - TAB - Dict (Dictionary option will appear) - Enter. Then immediately will go to dict.org and instantly pull up the definition to your word.
Easy to hide and access if you get the hot key right for quicksilver to open up. I personally used APPLE/SPACEBAR to make it quickly availble (just an example). The best thing about this program (and surprised that it's not being charged for) is it's completely free, with of course you choose to donate.
Cons: Wasn't very easy to learn off hand. I had to go online to read documentation, but it wasn't hard to catch on to what it can do and how to access those functions. As far as emailing, you can do a very quick attachment send to a email adress without any title or body. However you can add an attachment to a new email letter, allowing you to start typing. BUT there's no built in email functions, you need to have your default email app open (not that big of a deal, since I often use entourage anyways. Would be nice if QS indexed email and not just the contacts, allowing you to quickly find that email and attachment.
