You can watch quicktime movies without all the garbage itunes crap Apple forces you to bog your computer down with.
Cons
That people still use quicktime at all. Who wants to have itunes installed just to watch quicktime movies? Thank goodness for this software.
Watch out for the crap at the beginning of the install. There are two or three programs you will want to avoid installing (tool bars and other garbage).Summary
Works perfectly. Lets you view quicktime movies without the hassle and wast of space that is iTunes.

"Solid program, but iTunes doesn't recognize it"

Pros
This is a solid program that takes up little space and doesn't include extraneous programs like Apple's ridiculous bundles.
Cons
As I was de-bloating the iTunes software bundle, I tried to see if iTunes would recognize QTA as a valid substitute since iTunes requires QuickTime to run. Sadly, it did not. This makes me more annoyed with Apple than anything, however.

You do not have to put up with the annoyances of Quicktime in order to watch QT movies.

None that I can find so far.
Summary
If you do not like the fact that Quicktime sets itself up to auto-launch at setup, or if you do not like the vulnerabilities that Quicktime has that Apple is slow to patch, this is for you! It is also great for those of us who generally do not like having Apple products on our Windows machines.

At merely 18.2 MBs, this FREE "QuickTime Alternative" is a third the size of the Apple QuickTime Player (77.3 MBs), downloads faster and is much more responsive than its slow and cumbersome predecesor.
Cons
I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PRODUCT.
Summary
The FREE "QuickTime Alternative" is but a fraction of the (megabyte) size of Apple's official version, yet downloads much faster and is a lot more responsive than any other QuickTime substitute, to date.
I'm very pleased with its performance and.... I'm still puzzled as to why the C-Net editors favored Apple's official QuickTime product over this more lightweight, more versatile, far more superior substitute.
P.S. If it matters to anyone, My (2007) HP Pavillion desktop runs Windows Vista Basic as my O.S. -
