This middle-of-the-road clipboard extender cuts and saves clippings (here called phrases) with ease, but it has some serious problems with pasting. QuickPhrase's well-organized and easy-to-use tabbed interface makes it easy to create phrases and, if you want, group them into folders.
The Options menu lets you assign hot keys and specify whether user-defined macros will overwrite the clipboard (the faster option) or not. We had no trouble selecting and pasting from the Clipboard History list, but QuickPhrase faltered when we tried to paste with hot keys. In our tests, we created several snippets and assigned them different hot keys. But when we tried to paste them, the program always selected the one most recently copied to the clipboard, regardless of which hot key we used.
On top of that, the program doesn't work with images, and the demo version limits you to 10 text entries. Overall, QuickPhrase looked good but didn't fully deliver, and the flaws in its most important functions will have users of all levels looking for a better and more reliable way to organize and paste clips.
