This feature-rich application lets you create a comprehensive database for monitoring products, but the overly complex interface isn't user-friendly. Product Scope 32 Pro opens with a jumble of icons and menu options over a plain blue window. Most are for browsing the database of products or vendors, but each pulls up an even more confusing array of tabs, buttons, and menu selections. The program captures detailed information including descriptions, images, prices, and places to buy, and products can be categorized. The registered version includes access to a thumbnail creator, a PDF toolbox, and an image viewer. Though Product Scope 32 is supposed to make it easier to view and compare information on products, setting up and using it is so complicated it's hard to imagine what item would be worth this much trouble. This product is definitely not for the novice user, although we suspect that nearly all users, regardless of skill level, will want a shopping tool that offers a friendlier design.
