"Give DAZ a Try"
Version: Poser DAZStudio 3D Models Pack 1.0
Pros
I already have these particular models, so I didn't have to download from here, but they're really great, basic models and are perfect for new users of DAZ and 3D programs in general.
Cons
No real cons for the content, it would just be helpful in they included a quick 'how-to' guide for installing and how to find the content once it's installed.
Summary
While the content is actually easy to download and install, new users that put off downloading and reading the DAZ artist guide will likely find themselves at a loss for how to 'find' the content they have installed.
All in all I really love DAZ and the literally thousands of free content available online. You can find just about anything and everything you can think of for DAZ, without having to fork out a fortune. This is especially helpful for new users to DAZ and 3D, like myself, who don't want to spend a lot of money as they learn the program and experiment with it's capabilities.
The #1 thing for new users ---- Go to the DAZ website (daz3d.com), download the DAZ Artist Guide and read it before trying to use the program and find/install content. Also look around on Google/Amazon or other sites for other DAZ guides/tutorials and how-to articles.
The DAZ website also has a fantastic forum community where you can find detailed and easy-to-read articles on how to find content you've installed from them or from 3rd party sites. Doing this is going to save you massive headaches, I promise you. Otherwise, be prepared to buy stock in Advil or Tylenol, you're going to need it!! This is one time when you have to read the instructions first, especially if you've never used DAZ and/or are not familiar with 3D software.
DAZ 3D is a great program and it can the perfect introduction to new users of 3D software, just be prepared to put in a little reading time so that you're really able to have a positive experience and you're not tempted to give up, like I almost did. Good luck! -

Version: Poser DAZStudio 3D Models Pack 1.0

A lot of expensive models given away free.

Version: Poser DAZStudio 3D Models Pack 1.0
Pros
Easy to use. has maany intuitive features is free has very good render engine with much improved lights.
Cons
Mainly it has no material room semilar to the one in Poser.

The one thing I don't like above ll others is the hard time I have keeping track of added content. I have 45 gigs of external runtime that I find easily in Poser but have to search for in Daz Studio.

"Needed characters for Poser"
Version: Poser DAZStudio 3D Models Pack 1.0
Pros
4 characters; Aiko, Hiro, Michael, Victoria
Cons
You need download the update from Daz for Vicky's head morphs to work.
(ps_pe036_Up-89.exe)
No textures for Mike or Vicky. Look in Renderosity.
I have used characters that have both mats and morphs.
The mat poses work, The morphs do not.
