As you might guess from its name, this free game enhances and updates the basic Pong formula. In Pong Solo, you compete against three computer opponents at once and must outlast them by successfully returning every volley. Unfortunately, you can t choose to play against a friend. While the graphics aren't stunning, they are sufficient for such a simple game, and you can change the background color if you don't like the default setting. You can also choose to turn off the energetic background music and the heckling, although we enjoyed hearing both. It's easy to change the level of challenge since Pong Solo offers a decent amount of customization options. For example, you can change game speed, ball speed, acceleration, paddle size, and available power-ups. The only thing we missed was the ability to switch controls from the mouse to the keyboard. In spite of its simple concept, we think this free game will appeal to a wide range of users looking for a quick way to kill time.Publisher's description
From Digital Liquid :PongSolo is a single player pong game. You vs. 1 to 3 computer players. Extra effort was put into the game to allow for as much control over the game rules as possible, from global to individual player settings. By using the options screen you can create a whole new game every game. I like limiting the power item to paddle pull and sit back and watch 4 computers go nuts at high speed! With the addition of POWERUPS this game gets niftier. There is even a golden paddle for the best player, which can shoot. Pong Solo is the end result of getting a little carried away building a simple Pong game.
Version 1.1 features ability to save options to external configuration files.
