An addictive reimagining of the classic Risk tabletop board game, Pocket Conquest is a wonderful addition to the PDA gaming world. Without having to throw the original version's countless dice, the game moves faster, and with more intensity. As in Risk itself, players are given armies, then set out to conquer the world by attacking opponents. The country maps are a bit odd--the Ukraine covers a huge part of Europe, for example--but they don't impede the game play. New maps are also available from the developer. The trial version allows full games, but players are given the same starting position for each game. The sound, including explosions, gunfire, and triumphant cheers, is of quite high quality. On the whole, we would highly recommend this to any Pocket PC owner who enjoys a few nail-biting hours over a game of Risk.
