Part of the power of a PC lies in the ability to customize almost every aspect of the desktop. To this end, Picture to Icon provides a tool to turn your digital photos or other images into icons that can spice up the links to your programs, folders, or files. The software provides fewer options than most full-fledged icon-creation tools, however. It does offer the ability to extract icons from a program file, and lets a user capture a screen image, turn it into a graphic, and resize it as an icon. Users seeking the larger suite of editing tools necessary to create icons from scratch should look elsewhere. We see the software as a fun customization tool for casual computer users, but it lacks the range of features to appeal to professionals.Publisher's description
From SoftBoy :Picture To Icon converts images or any part of your screen into icons, resizes the icon, and extracts icons from libraries. With Picture To Icon you can make nice Windows icons of your pictures or digital photos. It converts BMP, JPEG, GIF, PNG, CUR, and WMF formats into any size Windows icons. Capture any part of your screen and convert it to an icon or BMP file. You can set the icon size in the range from 1 x 1 to 240 x 240 pixels. You can also extract icon from EXE files.
Version 1.95 adds Windows Vista support.

"Can't run due to Trojan found by AVG 8"
Pros: Can't say because it threw up a Trojan alert when I tried running it.
Cons: There's a Trojan in their installation.
Summary: Get rid of the Trojan, then we can review it properly.

Pros: Was very easy to install. It had selectible features and good graphics. I was able to convert a number of different file types with ease.
