From Antonio DA CRUZ :This image retouching program allows you to adjust an image and apply filters. Filters allow you to adjust brightness, contrast, dyed, saturation, gamma correction, and also artistic filters include watercolor, pastels, Indian ink, pointillism and puzzle effect. PhotoFiltre uses two types of selection tools. The first type uses automatic shapes - rectangle, ellipse, triangle, rhombus. The second type is a lasso and polygon tool. They both allow a customized form by drawing a shape by hand or using a series of lines. Every selection can be saved as a separate file.

"I got an OLD version of PhotoFiltre from this download!"
Pros: Matter of fact, two days after I took this download CNet changed the product name w/out actually updating to the latest free version, PhotoFiltre 6.2.7. I uninstalled & tried downloading assuming it was updated & I recieved the same install which is missing a few new features which are on the install from other sites. Hopefully it's fixed now. Anyway.....PhotoFiltre 6.2.7(freebie) and PhotoFiltre Studio (trialware) are useful apps & a good starting kit for ones who jus jumped into the image editing game, newbies like me! The freeware has many different features (minus layers) & a boatload of effects which makes it a useful, good download. Most effects r basically the same in most popular programs but Photofiltre makes it fun b/c it's different. The manual is great, easy to understand yet good topics in their forum is mostly in french, as well as the many plug ins for common things such as red-eye, exporting/importing, jpeg, animated gif, etc. It's like u have to build it yourself if ur working w/ windows 2000-2004, although they supply all the parts. Regardless, what they offer already "as is" is still impressive... if we can mange doing our layers in photoshop, gimp blah blah ; )
Cons: (minor complaints)
1. doesn't include layers, making it more challenging to work on different elements of the image seperately
2. crowded & not customizable interface

Pros: This does everything I was looking for in a free photo editor, and then some. I was very happy to find the smudge tool, as well as being able to resize photos. I highly reccommend this download.

Pros: When I first got this program I got it for its transparency tools, but I tried out more on it, and I loved it! I'm glad the French translated this program so English people could use it, I recommend it for free photo editing.
