This icon and cursor editor lets you create on the fly, but its limited 256-color palette may frustrate you. You'll endure a confusing installation process only to be hit with a nag screen that forces you to wait 10 seconds before you can launch Paraben's Icon Builder. We like the large set of features, including animation, scripts that allow you to insert your icons into buttons and spheres, among other options, and the standard array of effects. Most editing tools are available, and you control the level of editing detail by adjusting the pixel size. However, the interface is cluttered and harder to use than we'd like. Paraben's Icon Builder is an acceptable choice for users who just need to make a few simple icons or cursors, but power users should seek something less inhibiting.Publisher's description

Version: Paraben's Icon Builder 7.0
Pros: It has support for many filetypes easy enough to use and powerful in making .ico .ani and .cur files. the animation is exactly like in Macromedia Fireworks Mx 2004, so people familiar with that platform will be right at home.
Cons: Its not very straightforward you have to press all of the buttons to know what they do. or read the help section avidly.

Summary: This is definately the best icon maker I've seen. I really like the ablitiy to import .gif, .jpeg, and .bmp.

Summary: I am by no means a power builder or anything of that sort, still I was able to create an icon within 5 minutes. I believe this program will be worth the money the company requests from downloaders
