CNET Editors' review
Spun off from OpenOffice.org, OxygenOffice Pro is virtually the same program, but with a few more features. Fortunately, it's much like its parent, and you can opt out of whatever features you dislike during the installation.
Originally called OpenOffice Premium, a misnomer like the current "pro" designation, the interface and basic functions remain unchanged from the source. OxygenOffice is all about the add-ons. Most notably it comes with a huge clip-art and photo gallery, 3,400 images strong and easy to drop into any Oxygen document. There are also extra fonts, templates, and sample docs included, useful for those who have forgotten or need a refresher for business letter formats and such, but they're not for every user.
One function that should have wide appeal is OooWikipedia, which lets you search Wikipedia without having to jump to your browser. Support for Visual Basic in Excel, and smoother WordPerfect document and graphics importation are small but useful improvements. There are also enhanced help menus and user's manuals, nice touches that reflect the extras that Oxygen gives. Despite these extras, we'd like to see more OpenOffice plug-ins included before making this a must-have.

"Excellent free alternative to Microsoft Office."
Version: OxygenOffice Professional 2.4.1
Pros
Does just about everything I need.
Cons
Have experienced difficulties sending files to those using Microsoft Office. You have to remember to save in the correct format.
Summary
Having owned Microsoft Office before, I begrudge having to pay huge sums of money to put tyhe programme on a new computer. When I discovered Oxygen Office, I was delighted and now have version 3.0 downloaded and in use.

"I THINK IT IS AS GOOD AS MICROSOFT OFFICE 2003"
Version: OxygenOffice Professional 2.4.1
Pros
What I like is the fact that it is free. It is easy to use.
Cons
I have much trouble with updates. They seem to download but won't install.
Summary
As I said in summary, it is as good as MS Office 2003 and need some work to be like MS Office 2007. I think it is considerablly simpler to use than 2007. I think a little upgrade in Calc would be nice.

"Can't summarize what you can't use"
Version: OxygenOffice Professional 2.4.1
Pros
Can't summarize what you can't use
Cons
This program loads in a foreign language.
-
"Waste of bandwidth. What language?"
Version: OxygenOffice Professional 2.4.1
Pros
If I could install it I could answer the question. Surely the worst download from your site ever!
Cons
Needs a translator and also tells me that I am using the wrong operating system. This is in English. Something strange here.
Summary
Don't waste time and bandwidth unless you speak a wierd East European language.

"It's in a foreign language."
Version: OxygenOffice Professional 2.4.1
Pros
Openoffice is very good software.
Cons
None of the words are recognizable. It's in Polish or something. I think you have to specify the default language when you first install the software. Look for something like "Anglisky (USA)" in the list of languages.
-
"It's free and at least as good as MS Office!!!"
Version: OxygenOffice Professional 2.4.1
Pros
It's got everything needed for the home or small office.
Cons
Nothing to say.
-
"it loads in Russian!"
Version: OxygenOffice Professional 2.4.1
Pros
Could not evealuate. but I know the core product (OpenOffice) is top notch
Cons
The approx 250mb download takes 12 minutes on a good cable connection but loads strictly in Russian. I suppose one can dig around in the product and find the language of default but why? I even remember loading and using the core product
Summary
I wish I could have tested the office suite but I don't understand Russian. After digging around in the configuration options, I give up. I hope I can find the Uninstaller

"It works and it's free!"
Version: OxygenOffice Professional 2.4.1
Pros
Less distortion on word 2007 formats. Simple to use. Great alternative to M$ Office.
Cons
Interface isn't sophisticated. Not much of a con though
Summary
If you don't want to spend a lot of money on M$ Office, then this is the next best thing. It can open all M$ files... works the same way. If you know M$ Office, you'll know this. It's free!!!
