Downloading videos, Flash games, and large batches of files is greatly simplified with this freeware download manager, but Firefox users may have difficulty with integration.
Orbit's primary interface is bland, but the basic toolbar and info boxes guarantee everything is easy to find. Orbit shines with Internet Explorer integration. To get a media file, simply right-click a video or photo and choose Download from your context menu. Grabbing a Flash game is even easier. Hover over a Flash file, and Orbit displays a button for a fast download.
Fast and small are key traits of this application. It uses a bare minimum of memory, and downloads are much faster than with a browser alone. Where Orbit shines is its one-button simplicity for downloading multiple files on a site. From there, you can easily filter for file type. Orbit's numerous configuration options make it one of the more flexible download managers available.
Although designed to integrate with the IE, Firefox, Opera and Maxthon, we had great difficulty getting Orbit to work seamlessly with Firefox. We finally gave up trying to get the Flash download feature to work. Nevertheless, anyone downloading large numbers of files will find this freeware indispensable.

The get it button that shows up every time you move it over anything that has to do with flash. too bad they cant set it up to recognize and only show up on videos.

Is very helpful in resuming downloads when Internet connection is less than specatacular. For this it works well. Pops up a window for all downloads, if you press "cancel" will let your system handle it.
Cons
Has an annoying "GetIt" button that pops up every time you work with flash, even if you are trying to play a game on the computer. There seems to be no way to disable this button. I finally uninstalled the program...
Summary
The "GetIt" button was just too annoying. If the program had had I way to disable this button, I would have kept using it.

if orbit crashes somehow for pc power failure or any other reasons all the download progress losts and it starts download from the begining...but it never happens in dap....thats why there is no alternative for dap.

"Strange web-site redirection after installing Orbit"

It used to work...maybe a previous version.
Cons
I had to remove it after it constantly redirected me to an "Oops" error message at www.orbitdownloader.com/pageerror...even when I tried to browse my bank's web site. The "Oops" page even showed sponsored ads. Very suspicious.

This seems like a dangerous program that could capture information you don't want to share.

This doesn't convert to mp4.
Summary
It's quite convenient, but often downloads what you've previously perused regardless of whether you wish to download it. This happens even after refreshing the YouTube video page, as suggested. And then the video must be renamed from a generic flv to what it actually calls itself (which is OK-not too inconvenient); and after that it needs to be copied to the player you use regardless of the fact that the download file is actually the one used by that player.

If you are a Premium Rapidshare user Orbit download files for you very quickly and has no trouble with resuming interrupted or paused downloads.
Cons
Does not resume interrupted or paused downloads for free users of Rapidshare. But then no download manager does (AFAIK).
