Designed to commemorate the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, this free program makes a mostly middling option. As you might guess from its name, this application is centered around the sport of volleyball. Over a colorful cartoon background, you'll see a couple of hand-drawn volleyball players roll across your screen. Unfortunately, the whole scene only lasts a few seconds before repeating itself, meaning that many users may soon find this app monotonous. Also, though Official Olympic Volleyball Screensaver's Settings panel gives you the option to adjust volume, we never heard sound effects or music even with the slider cranked to the max. The only other notable feature is the ability to adjust the speed of the action. If you're looking for a free keepsake from the 2004 Olympics, this app will work, but if you want a truly compelling screensaver, keep looking.
