CNET Editors' review
Nitro Pro 7's interface has been completely redesigned with the ribbon-style navigation of Microsoft Office 2010. If you're familiar with ribbon tabs, then zipping around Nitro should be a breeze. On the other hand, if you're new to this style of navigation, it could take some time to get acquainted. The top-level tabs include File, Home, Edit, Review, Forms, Protect, and Help. Click on any one to reveal a row of buttons below it. It's all pretty intuitive, and each tool is accompanied by an icon, which makes for an enjoyably straightforward experience.
As for the guts of the program, Nitro Pro 7 offers all of the functionality you would expect from a complete PDF package. It makes it very easy to create, convert, insert, edit, review, secure, and sign PDF files. Plus, it supports Microsoft DMS, comes with a Web browser plug-in, can show or hide OCG layers, and can redact text, images, and pages securely.
The convert function works perfectly, allowing you to convert batches of PDFs to Word or Excel files, images, or even plain text. There's also a Stamp Signature tool, which captures, stores, and overlays your handwritten signature on PDF files, and even password-protects your saved signatures so other users can't gain access.
Overall, we think Nitro Pro 7 provides just about everything you could ask for from an all-in-one PDF solution. With its rich feature set and intuitive interface, it makes simple PDF manipulation a snap, and it gives you the power to add stamps, watermarks, and security to your documents.

"easy to use, highly functional AND CHEAP!!#@!"
Version: Nitro Pro (32-bit) 8.0
Pros
easy to use
friendly support
cheap
lots of optionsCons
not an American product
can't browse internetSummary
I was looking for other options after numerous issues with Adobe and their support. After researching other options and trying a few other programs, I decided to roll with Nitro. It does everything Adobe and other products I trialed do and is much easier to use. Finally, the big thing for me is the support because I'm a 69 YEAR OLD MAN and have NO IDEA what I'm doing half the time. I've sent a bunch of questions to the support team and I got quick responses that were helpful and friendly.

"Horrible Customer Service"
Version: Nitro Pro (32-bit) 8.0
Pros
use instead of Adobe
Cons
1. Has lots of bugs... too many to list.
2. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Have a problem? Don't bother calling Nitro... they're a bunch of condescending jerks!
3. Regular license renewal costs end up making it more expensive than Adobe.Summary
Don't bother! Spend your money on the original, Adobe, you'll be much happier in the long run.

"Not good enough for the long haul"
Version: Nitro Pro (32-bit) 7.5.0.18
Pros
Sure it functions easy for those who do not use all or a lot of the Acrobat features. There are short cuts I wish Adobe would pay attention too but only sometimes.
Cons
You can't expect a Big Rig to have fewer gears and a smaller engine to do the same haul either.
That being the case, has anyone tried to scan a form, make text boxes, fill in those text boxes and print only the text on a pre-printed form? Good luck. Then try to get tech support to help or something that helps you online. Again, good luck.Summary
I will continue to monitor the fixes for this product because it could have potential, especially if Nitro provides more of the Adobe features in the future. Until then, I have to use a program that I can use to get the job done.

"Simple and intuitive software that works"
Version: Nitro Pro (32-bit) 7.3.1.10
Pros
Simpler and faster than ever before. This is one piece of software that improves with each version in the most important ways - it does everything you need and is easier and faster to use.
Cons
Crying out for a Mac version. I am assured it is coming soon.
Summary
I have been a long time user and thought it was time to provide an update. This company listens to its customers (well, me at least) and does not suffer from feature bloat. The free reader should replace Adobe on everyone's PC

"Best PDF converter available"
Version: Nitro Pro (32-bit) 7.0.1.2
Pros
Easy to use, simple to convert docs, excel, images etc to pdf, many useful functions. Have been using Nitro PDF Pro for a couple of years now, after trying all the free ones available. Does everything you need without the Adobe price tag.
Cons
Only issue I have and don't know if its the same with all pdf converters, is the pdf convert to text. Each paragraph is converted as a seperate text box so can be time consuming if you want to edit the text.
As said above, this may be the same with all pdf converters.Summary
Great tool, great price.
