This screensaver's name speaks for itself, as it provides a large variety of photos featuring the Big Apple's most famous icons. Whether you want to check out the Empire State Building, experience Central Park in autumn, or simply wander the city streets, there's a good chance New York City Screensaver has an image to fit the bill. However, the demo restricts you to rather low-quality photos festooned with a nag message, which negates some of its charm. Still, we did appreciate the rather large feature set, including the ability to set the interval between images, to mute sound, and to apply a number of transition effects. If you want a daily dose of New York culture and can live with the demo's image-quality restrictions, we don't see the harm in giving this program a try.
