CNET Editors' review
The new Netscape Navigator takes a Firefox foundation, some neat Sidebar innovations, and an inside track to the Netscape.com social-networking and news site to create a browser that has some great features with minimal wonkiness.
Netscape.com is a huge part of the new Navigator: some new features might not be of interest if you don't hang out there. The Share button inside the address bar connects you directly to Netscape.com. Highlight content from the page and hit Share. The content becomes a summary, in a box that just needs a few tags to be submitted to the collective. Already-posted articles show Vote and Discuss icons instead of Share.
Bookmarks and History are self-explanatory sidebars, but a series of Netscape.com-related ones work well, too. Netscape Friends' Activity shows you what your friends have been doing, Netscape Tracker tracks the latest site updates, and Netscape News tracks only news posts. Non-Netscape.com users--a small, rebellious group, no doubt--will appreciate the Mini-Browser sidebar, which is essentially two tabs opened simultaneously, and the Link Pad, a savable URL notepad. Drag-and-drop adds a URL, clicking on the saved link opens it in a new tab. This is one of Navigator's new tricks that we love, but wish had more traditional notepad functionality. All Sidebar features have toolbar icons that you can add at will.
Most of the bundled features from version 8 have been removed. IE mode, integrated AOL IM, RSS reader, form filler, and security suite are gone, but the compatibility with Firefox 2 extensions and LinkPad more than make up for the loss. The innovations here might make this more than a backup browser.

"Good, but ... a bit fed up with browsers"
Version: Netscape Navigator 9.0b1
Pros
Fast, and imported my Firefox bookmarks. But... We went from Nestcape to IE, from IE to Simulbrowse, Avant, Netcaptor and other "tabbed-IE" browsers, from there to Opera, from Opera to Firefox, some switched to Seamonkey, and now it's back to Netscape ? On the single PC, we're confronted with five major offers, of which FF, Netscape and Seamonkey come from the same group ! Not to mention the specialized browsers... Not to mention that, to be different, some of these browsers try to be something else than a browser (a HTML editor, a mail program...). Isn't this much energy wasted from companies, and much time lost by the user to move from one program to the other ? Who said competition was good for the consumer ?

"As good as Mozillas' Firefox"
Version: Netscape Navigator 9.0b1
Pros
Everything! Amazing browser.
Cons
Netscape could develop a brand-new user interface, like a registered trademark.

"In my eyes, better than FireFox"
Version: Netscape Navigator 9.0b1
Pros
Netscape does have some things away from FireFox, like the menus, it all looks the same like Mozilla Firefox.
For my feeling, netscape loads as quick as firefox, but more secure.
I've tested it on a website i know it was dangerous, but Mcafee blocks it.
So, i surfed to it with FireFox, and it tried me to download a virus.
But, Netscape didn't, i didn't noticed anything with Netscape. Netscape may be slower than FireFox, but it's more secure for my feelings.

"Excellent"
Version: Netscape Navigator 9.0b1
Pros
running netscape 9 extensionless. awesome. not 1 freeze or crash since beta. very fast, almost instant "back" button re-rendering, close to opera. i tryed it with 8 firefox extensions, worked good. netscape's license agreement with firefox allows netscape to use any code developed from firefox. it is in their license agreement. some peeps are saying netscape is a firefox rip. inaccurate. netscape made firefox early on with their license agreement allowing firefox to develop.
Cons
nothing. mint browser.

"Very Good"
Version: Netscape Navigator 9.0b1
Pros
Netscape Navigator 9.0 is fast. It is stable. It beats Internet Explorer 7.0 by a wide margin.
Cons
You can't apply the Windows Classic Theme at this time. This is only a nitpick on an otherwise good product.

"Second Best Browser"
Version: Netscape Navigator 9.0b1
Pros
This is a wonderful little piece of software. It is nearly as good as FireFox, and gaining ground quickly. A lot of the FF extensions work fine with Netscape, and the improvements that have been made to it in just the last year are unbelievable. I highly recommend Netscape for tabbed browsing that is more stable and easier to tweak than IE.
