This download manager doesn't offer many extra features, but we liked its clean design and straightforward interface. NetLeech is integrated into Internet Explorer (but not Mozilla Firefox and Opera), so to download a file, all you need to do is click on the appropriate link in your browser. This freeware is well organized, filing downloads into folders automatically based on file type. Another handy feature we discovered during testing is the ability to switch file folders during download (in case you notice there's not enough disk space, for example). While the program isn't able to schedule downloads, considering its other useful features, we weren't too concerned. Overall, if you're looking for a reliable download manager, this freeware option is a good pick.Publisher's description
From ArmenM Software :NetLeech is a download manager, organizer, and accelerator. It supports both HTTP and FTP protocols, proxy servers, file splitting, broken connection handling, file filters, automatic dial up/shutdown, file relocation, and detailed download process information. NetLeech can be invoked directly from Internet Explorer and other IE-based browsers. Version 3.0 has two modes: Basic (default) and Ultra. In the Ultra mode NetLeech is extended by an FTP browser, scheduler, Internet search, and a basket. In this version, there are a few bug fixes and small additions made.

Version: NetLeech 3.0
Pros: It's light and clean, which is very important to me. Doesn't bog down your system with stuff you don't want.
Cons: I wanted to like this program, but unfortunately, it's got some bugs and annoyances which after a while made me uninstall it and I'm now looking for other options.
1. When I let the program do several concurrent downloads of the same file (different parts), it would sometimes just restart the download from scratch with no warning or error message. Sometimes this feature would call a file "Finished" when there was a chunk in the middle of the file missing, and there is nothing you can do about that but delete the download and start anew.
2. Problems with adding url's via Internet Explorer. Would not work when password required at the site (rapidshare.com), even if specified in the password manager of the program. (When I add the same link manually, it works)
3. Whenever rapidshare.com went offline for a bit, NetLeech would mess up all added downloads, not being able to "find" the file when the site got back online. Solution: Manually add all downloads again. (I did not try any other sites)
All in all, too buggy for me - and I'm willing to give up a lot to stay with small, neat utils rather than huge programs with features I don't want. In this case though, it just didnt work.
Oh yeah and 4. - it's free but you have to pay if you want to unlock all features.

Version: NetLeech 3.0
Pros: I still haven't explored all its functions, but it does the download thing beautifully without much prompting. It's at least as good as the built-ins with Firefox and Opera, and gives much more information in the process. The Pause and Resume features are very smooth and trouble-free.

Version: NetLeech 3.0
Pros: Good interface. The speed was high and surpassed several download managers that I utilized. Better than DAP.
Cons: FlashGet is definitely quicker than this downloader. But I would still recommend NetLeech and FlashGet.
