"What a Colossal and Pathetic Waste of Time and Money!"

If you DON'T buy it, You Can Save a LOT of Time and Money!

It's about as intuitive as a rock! - Can't read a simple receipt! - NOT compatible with the current of Quicken/Mac! (they say no plans to fix) - Can't import from Excel! - Can't export to OCR to any text program! - Will NOT preserve custom settings!

? First, the enclosed packaging Product Key didn't work!
? Their on-line system disabled my log-in account. In spite of notifying them of this, they did not help re-establish it, yet almost every support ticket I got, tells me I need to log into my account -WHICH I CAN'T DO!
? They keep referring me to a "Windows" possible solution, even though I kept stating to them I'm on a Mac!
? They do NOT have a manual or guide for their Mac software! (neither paper nor PDF) just their short sales video.
? Their "Neatworks for Mac Forum" (which is on their menu) is an unsupported 404 ERROR page!
? You can select & rearrange the columns displayed in their directory "Table", but they are NOT saved! - And they say there is there no way to preserve these settings!
? The NeatReceipts for Mac is NOT compatible for exporting to Quicken for Mac 2010/2011! They said they have NO plans for a compatible version!
? NeatReceipts will NOT import any existing Microsoft Excel spread sheets (i.e. with contact information)!
? If you OCR a document, NeatRecipts can NOT export the OCR text to a Word or any other text document!
? Every time a business card is scanned, it defaults to a "Receipt" format, requiring you to mouse around, re-designate and re-analyze every damn card into a business card format!
? NeatReceipts won't even recognize a basic receipt (sample available)
? It can take weeks for them to get back with any pertinent information!
Other than that, someone might be able to use it! (If they had patience and money to waste!) -

Software is unstable, very buggy and just not "Mac" software. Absolute pain to use. Also scanner is not great, receipts scanned at an angle, slow, just not great.
Summary
Looks fantastic on paper, however when you start using it, the software is a huge let down, when it's not crashing, it's painfully slow and nothing works like you'd expect.

Pros
Going Paperless has its advantages, and it doesn't come easily. After struggling a bit-can send receipts directly to their file with a full face receipt, ready for Profit and Loss, IRS, or whatever else comes at you.
Cons
Cons: Program does not recognize simple numbers and letters and doesn't drag and drop information, as promised.
Summary
Bottom Line- every transition takes time and commitment. This transition is sure to include long hours as filing system must be created and organized from scratch. The scanner is weak and doesn't recognize numbers and letters or drag and drop, as touted by company. Still- online receipts go directly to appropriate folders and paper pile is dwindling. Definitely gets easier after set up system for both documents and receipts.

"unbelievably frustrating to configure - useless"

Only the marketing fluff - it would be a good product if it would do any of the things they say it can do.
Cons
Cannot configure a simple twain compliant scanner - HP L7780 all-in-one to work with this on MAC. The Scanner setup instructions are useless for L7780. With this product, if you can't scan, what is it's value? At any price?
Summary
Like a lot of programs that were originally designed for Windows platforms, simply porting it to a superior MAC OS X proves to be disastrous as a finished product. Very much like Quicken MAC. They would need to blow this up and begin anew with an engineering team that understands how OS X can be the most advantageous OS to an application like this should be.

Won't handle any other currency or global date formats, so useless for travellers
