CNET Editors' review
This widget downloads and displays images from National Geographic's Web site on to your desktop. You'll first need to install the Yahoo Widget Engine to run this program if you don't currently have it. After which, National Geographic Picture of the Day instantly retrieves--what else--its picture of the day along with the current date. Click the navigational button located on the widget for the photographer's name, a photo description, and the location. A double-click of the image launches your browser and opens National Geographic's home page where you can view previous pictures of the day. Seeing as how it is National Geographic we're talking about, users can expect nothing less than a great, free photograph delivered daily right to their desktop.

The National Geographic Picture of the Day widget is for use with the Yahoo Widget Engine.
This widget displays the National Geographic Picture of the Day on your desktop. A description of the image is available in a slide-out text area that can be positioned on any side of the Widget. Allows you to browse back and forth to previous pictures of the day. Double clicking any image opens the Web page to view the full size version. The frame and text can be coloured to your wishes or hidden individually or together. Manual refreshes, refresh timers, and automatic Widget update checking are all configurable via the Widget preferences.
