This desktop organizer has a good idea that's marred by faulty features and functionality. MyCleanDesktop's toolbar offers an assortment of buttons along with a clock, a system monitor, and an MP3 player. Eight of the buttons are labeled for Internet, Program, Graphic, and other areas, and are intended to organize shortcuts to programs, files, folders, and Web pages by category. Oddly, when each area is clicked, the new window displays a "deleteme" text file, though no explanation is offered for its presence. Also, though the limited help file directs you to the unfriendly Options page to add shortcuts, we found you could drag and drop items or right-click a category window to add shortcuts. Other settings in Options didn't take effect until the program was closed and reopened, and the MP3 player didn't work in testing. There's little to recommend this flawed desktop organizer for any user, and more functional and intuitive programs are available.
