Mozilla Thunderbird for Mac

What's new in this version:

Thunderbird 3 is based on the Gecko 1.9.1.5 platform including some major re-architecting to provide improved performance, stability, web compatibility, and code simplification and sustainability.

There are over 100 changes in this release, many laying the groundwork for future changes. Some notable changes include:

  "Great so far!"

  Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 3 beta 4

  Pros

  The new features are great! Even with the last version Thunderbird 2 version, I always felt like there was something missing, but this version really brings it's email capabilities to a whole new level.

  Cons

  Of course it is still a beta, but even for a beta it is great! The biggest failure I found was with the search function in which sometimes it didn't display the results, but still not a very noticeable one.

  "A good upgrade and search is fantastic"

  Version: Mozilla Thunderbird 3 beta 4

  Pros

  Makes syncing your gmail easy so you can use it offline.Then you can use zindus to sync the address books.Message tabbing is nice too.

  Cons

  It's still beta but the last one before release candidate so pretty soon it will be done, a worthy upgrade IMO.

  "Ok, but not amazing"

  Tabbed browsing,
  Quick access to what you want.

  Cons

  Tabs aren't essential.

  Summary

  Still not good enough to demand a switch from Mac OS X's Mail.

  "Good but nothing out of the ordinary"

  Pros

  Simple interface. As usual ad-ons galore

  Cons

  Unable to fully integrate with apps on my mac. and iphone.

  Summary

  My only reason for not using it is that the Mail app. in Mac works perfectly fine, plus it syncs. with my phone etc. If I used TB it would mean adding another app. to hopefully keep my contacts up to date and sync my calendars. None of these would work with my iPhone which I use quite a bit online.
