This dull and mindless auto-shop simulator is less enjoyable than a two-minute ad for motor oil. Monster Garage is based on the Jesse James TV show of the same name. As in the show, your team of four has seven days and $3,000 to take a vehicle and rebuild it into something completely different. Sound like fun? It's not. The Hints menu lists the parts you have to buy. You simply click the Buy button, order the necessary parts, dismantle your vehicle, and wait. When a new part arrives, you try to make it into something useful. When all the parts are ready, you start assembling the vehicle--and here comes the pain. Some parts have to go in before others, and to install them you do things like move your cursor along the weld or screw in bolts. The whole frustrating process involves nothing more than trial and error. Videos from the show occasionally interrupt the "action" (and by the way, this demo weighs 600MB, mostly because of them). Our take? The only monster in this garage is this giant stinkbug of a game.Publisher's description
From Trymedia Systems :Twist mold and modify a standard vehicle into the monster machine of your dreams. With only $3000 and seven days, you'll be working overtime in the Monster Garage to get the job done in time and on budget. You will need to plan your monster machine carefully order parts or create/construct the parts needed and start wrenching away just like Jesse James and his monster team of experts. Turn a limo into a fire truck or an SUV into a rock crawler. When you have completed your mission, test it against its real-world equivalent. Do you have the skills to take a run-of-the-mill street ride and turn it into an awesome miracle of modern engineering and ingenuity?

Pros: game is ok, with vidcaps from the tv show, and you get to rip apart a car, modify the parts and put it back together and drive them.
Cons: not the greatest graphics, the retail version of the game has lots of bugs yet
