Now I can use WMP to do what it should have been able to do from the beginning, play DVD's. Installation was easy and you can't beat the price...FREE!!

Man...Ive been looking for hours for a player that would play multiple files without having to clcik on one at a time to no avail. then got the bright idea to get a codec pack that would play my Flv files ... Finally !!! Success ! whew ! Now I can use my media player classic for all my codec files thanks for this codec pack...Btw if anyone is looking for an all in one player there are two i use all the time one is mpclassic it only has two files for that utilitly program ... it does it all ! then there is zoom player that does it all as well ... check em out ... you wont be disappointed. Also zoom player dont worry about the demo the only inconvenience when it expires is having to wait 7 seconds to press tab 1 2 or 3 ... mpclassic is not a demo nor a trial its a permanent .... hope this helps you all to save yourselves a lot of trouble ... one more thing save flash is another goodie that retrieves flash vids xtube youtube etc to your history cache then is retrievable from there to save to your hhd or any other drive you prefer...save flash is only 19.99 and it works well . the trial is 15 days fully functionable ... i plan to uninstall then reinstall LOL ...Well there you have it .

Total waste of a download and hard drive space. I downloaded it because it said it could support AVI however after installing it the AVI codec said "disabled" and had no option or instructions on how to enable it. I still could not play the AVI movie. Perhaps there is a way to enable it or get around this, but I tried several things and could not find a solution, so it there is one it is not obvious. The interface is not user friendly. I will try something else.

Getting the Media Player Codec Pack 1.1 sure beats paying Nero another $100 since they abandoned support of the 6.3 version that was included with my LG DVD burner. What a rip off Nero is. When you try to use the player, it gives you a pop up advising you that the version you are trying to use no longer supports MPEG4 and disables the player. Shame on you Nero! I tell everyone I know not to buy their products as there is no support after the sale.
Cons
there is no chapter skip control, only variable fast forward speeds. but, a small price to pay for a excellent free media player.

Im using vista and needed Xvid codec, when i downloaded this codec file.. i was amazed by this codec file! now i can watch my favorite movies. it was a great help for me! thanks & more power.

I like using Windows Media Player, but it just doesn't play everything. Instead of using my free FLV player (poor quality) I can now use WMP (way better quality). I installed this program 2 weeks ago, with no known conflicts. I'm using XP Pro.

I've found that, with this codec pack, I can play near any audio/video file. I've yet to encounter a file type that I am unable to play.
