Even the most advanced antispyware security can't guarantee your computer's safety, because most programs scan your site for digital nasties after they've already taken root. This ingenious Firefox extension warns you about covert spyware and browser-hijack attempts as you visit a site.
SiteAdvisor operates as an unobtrusive signal in your browser interface, turning green if the site is safe, yellow if it's suspect, and red if it senses threats or annoyances. The same coding system applies to Yahoo and Google search results, inserting a red, yellow, or green icon next to each link. Clicking these icons provides full diagnostics of the sites' threats, including links to other suspect sites, high spam counts, and the number of dangerous downloads.
We also liked the URL highlighter, which displays site rankings directly from your search engine, helping deflect drive-by installs that may initiate as soon as you type a URL. In our tests, SiteAdvisor turned out accurate and reliable results, and though it doesn't have a wide array of features, we urge any regular Firefox user to try this no-cost extension.

Version: McAfee SiteAdvisor for Firefox 26.6
"Good Idea but I would like to be able to configure it."
Pros: No Idea as I uninstalled this just after installing, because I don't want my browser cluttered up with bars I can't remove.
Cons: Why can't this be configured and changed like most FF add ons. The "options" and "uninstall" buttons in the extensions menu are disabled.

Version: McAfee SiteAdvisor for Firefox 26.6
Pros: Pro: Simple green, red or yellow circles warn me about malicious sites. I don't have to do anything to use SiteAdvisor. It works with bing, google and yahoo.
Cons: Con: The occasional green pop-up box when my cursor gets too close to the SiteAdvisor box in the tray.

"Results are not up to date! I agree with heat1001"
Pros: THe idea is good. It's supposed to warn users for dangerous websites!
Cons: It's not up to date! I searched towels in Google. First result page was Turkishtowels.com . The site was green ticked with McAfee, but there was a warning by Google "This site may harm your computer."
Summary: According to McAfee the site I visited was safe! Turkishtowels.com was not safe for Google but according to McAfee it was safe! I clicked on the Google information link and copied the data below from Google site:
