"Great free software"
Version: Magix Photo Designer 7.0
Pros
Free and functional.
Get's the job done.Cons
A little confusing.
Summary
I've used this a whole lot already. Magix has very good products. This one is a great little free problem-solver. Like their other stuff it's a bit quirky, but you get the hang of it. There are tons of options out there for photo editing, and some are free with even more capability I've heard, but for common tasks with plenty of features in a simple interface, this fits the bill. I was going to and probably still will get their full-feature software that does graphic design almost on a par with Photoshop. But for now this is a great little tool.
Remember to choose the custom installation to avoid the Ask Toolbar. This is annoying but totally avoidable. I suppose it's one way that Magix subsidizes their product line and keeps their prices very low considering all of the features they include. Also their customer service is totally lacking, but especially with this product you shouldn't be needing that. -
"I expected more"
Version: Magix Photo Designer 7.0
Pros
The pics that I finally figured out how to do were OK.
Cons
Difficult to understand exactly what things meant. Not enough training/explanation included.
Summary
I would not pay for this program. My 2003 Picture It had more features and was easier to use.
