M8 Free Clipboard is the simplest of all multi-clipboard and screen capture programs. Just have it running minimized and it captures everything you cut or copy from other programs. It keeps up to 500 clips. When you want to paste one back, all you have to do is restore M8 and click on the clip you want. When you move the mouse over the clips, you can see them in the viewer. If the clip is text, you see several lines and if it is a graphic, you see a thumbnail. - SCREEN SHOTS - To capture the entire screen press Prt Scr. - To capture the active window press Alt+PrtScr - To capture an individual graphic from Internet Explorer or AOL, point to the graphic, right click and select "Copy" from the drop down list. M8 also allows you to paste your digital photos directly into the body of Outlook, Windows Mail, Mozilla and other email programs.

I spend a lot of my spare time doing genealogy research and I find I am often copy/pasting the same information in several fields into several people's records. My process before was to recopy the different bits of information with each person's record. Now I simply click on the once-copied information in the M8 window each time I want to paste it. Such a time saver! I highly recommend this for everyone who is into family tree research.

I liked this some much I did purchase the upgrade. Now I can store over 10,000 clips, whether they be text or graphics. My wife likes to copy photos with it also! Excellent programs, both the free and paid versions! Both are keepers!

It sits in your tray and does what it says and copies links to it ready for pasting which is done with one click. It is very helpful.
Cons
The 'But' bit is that after some time of using it, instead of the usual one sheet view it opens up to store 500, which you can't use because you have to buy the upgrade. There has also been an annoying flashing box to get you to upgrade.
Summary
It started off great but ended up with the program owner continuously trying to get you to upgrade and buy. So for me this *was* great but is now a big disappointment and I am going to try a different program.

Summary
The Microsoft Office (And most other) multi clipboards simply retain the last few clips so that you can copy more than once before pasting. That functionality doesn't even scratch the surface of what M8 can do!
You can save clips permanently. You can take and edit screen shots. You can create clips which automatically include the system date and time. You can paste any digital photo or graphic file on your PC simply by browsing to it and clicking a button - and you have the option to paste it in the format accepted by Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Mail which other clipboards do not offer. You can even have your photos automatically reduced to a sensible size for emails during the paste process.
You can encrypt sensitive clips and you can create what they call "Log On" clips. In a Log On clip, you enter a web address where you log in to something, plus your user name, password and anything else you need to log in. When you click on a Log On clip, the web site opens in your browser and a miniature version of the clipboard opens above it with your user name and password ready to paste in.
As well as a multi clipboard, you get a year planner, a graphics editor and a picture browser thrown in. Clips which are Web addresses work as bookmarks. Clips which are phone numbers will dial via your modem. Clips which are files on your PC work as shortcuts to them. It will remove email indentation chevrons from text. It will word wrap fixed line length text (Including the repair of hyphenated words) It even pastes text into old DOS programs! The list of uses for this software just goes on and on?.. and on. -

Every time I try to copy something from an Office application, it activates AT&T Network Client, which I need to connect with my company. Having to repeatedly dismiss that window completely obviates and usefulness of the multiple clipboards.
