Cons

"A lot of expansion for a classic game"
Version: Lux 6.0.1
Pros
This is a dated format, but if you like Risk, the number of user created maps is awesome. Very much of a brain challenger.
Cons
The AI's are usually smarter than I am!
Summary
Very challenging game. And any map will have multiple players, and you can usually be any of them. Some are easier than others. One game can challenge you for many go arounds. I have about a hundred scenarios on my computer at this point.

"Crashes at the most critical moments!"
Version: Lux 4.0
Summary

Continually crashes on 10.3.5 on two different machines (eMac 1Ghz & PB 1.33 12"). Think of the worst strategic moment to go down and it invariably will. After crash prompts to send 'bug report' to apple <?!?> Very frustrating as I'd like it to work and to buy it. A dud. -
"Great Game"
Version: Lux 4.0
Summary

A little frustrating since my brother has been playing longer than me and now he can whip my butt. When we were kids, I schooled him at Risk.
Oh well.
It is a bit unstable. Crashes several times a day for (version 4).
Also, sometimes the dice seem to get stuck in a loop. It's possible that I could attack an empty country with 13 armies or so and end up with nothing, but it seems to happen more often than it should. -
"Better than ever"
Version: Lux 3.72
Summary

This is a phenomenal product. I played the demo versions of Lux and iConquer for a full week each before iConquer's demo period ran out. It had terrible AI, so I won about 80% of my games. It was pretty, though.
However, Lux was more playable, had more game options, AND still offered classic Risk maps (my #1 criteria). Not only that, but it did all of that with vastly superior AI. I only win about 2/3 of my games on the "Medium" difficulty, and I struggle to win consistentliy on the top-level AI. Great game. I purchased it a week ago, and couldn't be happier. -
"crashed a lot in panther"
Version: Lux 3.6
Summary

A nicely written Risk game, especially the computer AI and the capability of ranking in online games. But this application is far too buggy in this stage (have tried version 3.5 too). I sometimes experienced 3 or 4 crashes with the application in a row when playing online games. As for ranking in the Sillysoft, I don't understand why each players can have several entries, maybe it will be nice to have only one name for each player in the chart. Also, if someone crashes the game, and another person has to take over, it is more fair if that game is not to be counted in the ranking. -

"Best Risk on the Mac"
Version: Lux 3.2
Summary

This game is great. It can do everything that iConquerer can, and it the computer opponents are actually hard to beat. I think iConquerer looks a little smoother, but it can't compete on playability. Try both, but if you actually want to a run for your money, Lux is your game.
