CNET Editors' review
Longing for some change in your life? Why not start with that boring old Windows XP logon screen? With the freeware LogonStudio, choosing another screen is a matter of two clicks. Alternately, you can design your own with a built-in editor.
The first option is a lot easier. About 30 cool screens are available on the WinCustomize site, and the program can randomly select one on every boot. Editing is less straightforward. You build or modify logon screens by tweaking parameters on a lengthy list of elements. So you might, for instance, change the FirstColor parameter of the Centre Panel element to a new shade of blue. This allows you to customize everything from background to letterings to buttons, but beginners will find the process quite confusing. The sketchy online help isn't much assistance, either.
LogonStudio is best for users familiar with programming languages such as Visual Basic, whose development tools use a similar interface.

"I'm a sucker for appearance sake and this is PERFECT!"
Version: LogonStudio 1
Pros
Does what it claims.
Simple to use.
Lightweight.
Saves prev option.
Provide preview option to see if the logon image chosen would be best for your choice.
FREE!
No limitation to how many Logon screens to load.
RANDOMIZE the logon screenCons
Dont know reason why, but LogonStudio randomize option does not work, but I am sure it does on other computers so...yeah...
Summary
Dont let your computer hate you for keeping it dull (having the same screen as thousands of other people may make your computer feel unspecial and hateful towards you!). Allow it to look better, or look like you (meaning reflecting you and your choice in logon screens). Personalize your computer, make it special, and show you care.

"Possible Incompatibility with TuneUp Utilities?"
Version: LogonStudio 1
Pros
Wasn't able to install it properly.
Cons
Read summary.
Summary
Once I installed this program, I tried uninstalling some others. And I got an alert that windows installer wasn't working. So I restarted the computer. On my logon screen, none of my accounts were showing, so I was unable to access my desktop. I had to use Bart PE to do a system restore. The logon began working properly again. I had installed a logon using TuneUp Utilities earlier, and perhaps that created a conflict.

"Does Just About All most want..."
Version: LogonStudio 1
Pros
Sometimes I lack patients yet this app makes putting it all together a piece of cake.
If you want to change Welcome screens, this is the app to do it. From putting your picture together to making it all work, it takes care of it all.Cons
There was a small learning curve, but Im not the swiftest on the block with things like this. For those so inclined this will make it easy to create works of art.
Summary
It puts all the pieces together and then implements it all. So it not only handles the bits & pieces of putting these screens together, it also does all the 'system' work for you also, so there's no chance of messing up ones pc making the needed changes.
