From its start as a post-Napster clone to its leading role as the quintessential Gnutella client, LimeWire has been one of the highest-profile P2P applications. The 4.0 series further ups the ante with a combination of new features, an updated interface, and better all-around performance.
On the surface, the refined and zippier Java interface houses some snazzy new icons and a few new features, including a connection-quality meter and a button matrix for zeroing in on specific file types. The search interface now sports a progress bar, and file information--such as artist and album--is more clearly displayed. The improved network performance gave us considerably more search results than previous versions and a more reliable downloading experience (for a P2P client, that is). This latest version includes torrent support, and also feels more nimble despite its inherently resource-heavy Java-based foundation. We like the What's New feature, which lists files recently added to the network. The check box to filter out adult content also is a nice touch.
The new features and overall functionality make this by far the most mature version of LimeWire to date. Despite the typical performance flaws found in all file-sharing clients, this latest version continues to offer solid performance and good looks across the board.

Version: LimeWire 4.18
Pros: Very fast P2P applicaton. LimeWire smokes all the competition for downloading music and videos. I have broadband and can download a dozen songs in less than 5 minutes. Full length movies,(700 MB) will take a couple hours. I don't recommend using LimeWire for ANY software downloads. The files all seem to contain viruses. Music and movies are safe as long as you pick the correct size from the hosts you choose. If you want to download software apps,( spy cleaners, registry cleaners, photo apps, etc), stick with e-mule or Shareaza.

Version: LimeWire 4.18
"I've compiled a 17.2 GB Music collection with Limewire Pro."
Pros: I've been using the pro version for a long time & have compiled an awsome music collection with it. It remails the only P2P program I use & trust, mostly.
Cons: Oh sure, messing with a P2P program has it's risks. I try my best to avoid them. Compressed downloads, music downloads with all lower case letters, program cracks etc., etc! These are not ones I download, period and with a good anti-virus & anti-spy installed I have yst to be infected using Limewire.

Version: LimeWire 4.18
Pros: the search options are really good. u can search by name, song, movie, genre, etc.
Cons: it's a unsafe program and u can get a virus or anything else from it. some movies are 1 name, but can be a differnet movie all together. no matter what to look for there is ALWAYS a bit torrent w/ some kind of sex options, that part really sucks!

Version: LimeWire 4.18
Pros: I like the fact that it has more and more new music everyday.
Cons: If your running another program it interupts the song being played.
