Publisher's description
From Structu Rise :Capture text from the screen using OCR. Previously uncapturable text includes folder trees, file lists, database reports, messages, and dialog boxes. Now, menus, status lines, and other visible text (that previously could not be copied) can be captured. Select text in any (even Clipboard-unaware) application, and then copy and paste to your favorite editor, launch an Internet browser or e-mail editor, sum numbers, count the number of words and characters, or even reveal fonts. You can copy an area of a Web page or columns of data from a word-processor table. Make screenshots of any range in two clicks. This program is based on "Direct Klepting" technology.

Version: Kleptomania 2.4
"It said that it does PDF - it does not"
Pros: It looked like it would work....
Cons: Cryptic controls. Wouldn't do PDF files as advertised.

Version: Kleptomania 2.4
"Simple, powerful, uniquely effective"
Pros: I know no similar product, that allows me to capture text from screens where the program's author neglected to make the text copy-able.
Cons: 1) It's not perfect in recognizing text (of course).
2) It's not always obvious that it failed. It might help for the failed captures (when Klepto makes up a bunch of punctuation for the letters it can't recognize) to show up in another color or something.
