Publisher's description
From Kiwi Alpha :Fast and anonymous downloads from the LimeWire, Morpheus, Grokster, iMesh, BearShare and other Gnutella networks. Kiwi Alpha uses the same technology used by many of the leading P2P file sharing programs such as LimeWire, Morpheus, Grokster, iMesh, and BearShare. Kiwi Alpha protects the privacy of the user by connecting anonymously to the networked community. With Kiwi Alpha you can easily download all media types including audio like MP3, video like AVI, MPG, DIVX and XVID, images, documents, and software like games. To minimize the use of system resources Kiwi Alpha does not include a lame browser, a built-in player, or a chat room. That's why Kiwi Alpha performs great even on older systems. On the other hand, Kiwi Alpha features a handy play list, advanced search filters, and some nice options for fine-tuning the performance.
Version 2.2 fixes a problem with the previewing of MP3 downloads and filters out corrupt files based on hash signatures.

Version: Kiwi Alpha 2.2
"Simple prog perfect for quick song searches"
Pros: Designed to be a very small, swift and resource light P2P program. Divided into three very simple screens, My Media, Search, and Transfers, and all with very simple set ups perfect when hunting for one or two random songs you're after. The search is very fast and returns a good amount of relevant files and usually with a very good amount of hosts available. Download speeds are okay. This is definitely a fast and effective program for anybody looking for a song that is not too rare or underground (ie: relatively popular) when you don't want to be loading up a resource hogging P2P just for one download.
Cons: It's simplicity means that it does lack a few things that are essential for me (of course, this does not mean they are essential for anybody using it, so I would recommend you give it a try!). Minimal information on files is displayed in the search results. You cannot specify a downloads folder, nor can you do any sort of toolbar customisation, I refer to this especially in search results & transfers, two screens within P2P that I do like to customise and view the options that are of relevance to me. A lot of the time things are stuck on 'pending' even with a good amount of hosts listed. A lot of dummy search results returned, and although you get this across networks, in this program it is more so than your average P2P (ie: you search a band name and get lots of porn files included in your results with the band name merely attached to the video's file name).

Version: Kiwi Alpha 2.2
Pros: Brilliant & colourful userface.Very similar to Limewire 4.9 in it's set out.
Cons: Well,I installed the program, waited a good 5 minutes or more for it to connect, and when it did, didn't find anything at all.I even searched for Eminem!!So,I looked up options to see if I can find a solution and the FAQ said "If you don't get any search results, disconnect and then reconnect as you will connect to more networks."I tried this and waited more than 30 minutes for it to reconnect, only to end up rather annoyed and uninstalled the program.I think I'll stick to using Limewire-atleast it connects!!
