This is such a useless program other than making noises. Yet, I can't do without it.

      "first-rate"

      Version: Keyclick 1.1.3

      Summary

I've been wanting something like this ever since using TappyType on my old OS9 machines. This is actually quite an improvement over simply providing a "typewriter sound" in that it offers customizable feedback for keypresses, mouse clicks (if desired) and even scrolling (again, if desired). I find my MacBook's keyboard doesn't offer much physical or auditory feedback, so Keyclick fills that gap nicely. Same with "clicking" by tapping on the trackpad, or two-fingered scrolling. I actually find I'm a bit more confident typing without looking at either the screen or the keyboard now. And at $5, it's quite a bargain compared the one other application I know of that offers this functionality (Typewriter Keyboard).

      "Great for typists."

      April 09, 2007   |   By iGreg

      Version: Keyclick 1.0.5

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
If your a touch typist, like me, you will like Keyclick. Feedback is essential for touch typists (either physical or audio). Some keyboards (NOT the current Apple keyboards) give adequate feedback. Apple keyboards are very mushy and I was getting a lot of typos. So I bought the MacAlly iceKey, which has a decent snappy feel.

Laptops, like my 12" G4 Powerbook also have very little feedback.

KeyClick will help cut way down on the typos.

Only beed is that the feedback can be annoying if you play a game and use the keyboard for movement and shooting. I know you can turn it off in the Preference pane, but turning Keyclick on and off during the day can get tiresome. It would be great if you were able to disable Keyclick on an application basis, like having an exclude list in the preference pane.

      "Great price, responsive developer"

      March 26, 2007   |   By capitalj

      Version: Keyclick 1.0.5

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I tried an earlier version but let the trial expire. When I noticed the new version (1.0.5) I downloaded and registered it (heck, it's only $2.50) but the typewriter sounds didn't work. It was easily fixed after a prompt reply from the developer - turn off the key and scroll wheel clicks, close the pane, start over (could have sworn I'd already tried that.)

Once I heard the ding and zip of the carriage return, I was overwhelmed by nostalgia.

Keyclick is well worth the license fee.
