From Joe Stenger and Arlo Rose :Kaleidoscope is a powerful utility that gives your Macintosh computer a complete visual overhaul. Whether it's the document windows in System 7 or the bevel buttons in Mac OS 8, Kaleidoscope touches practically all interface elements of your Macintosh computer. It achieves this by using small plug-ins called color schemes. With the help of Arlo Rose, former head of Apple Computer's human interface team, all the schemes that come with Kaleidoscope have gone through a rigorous improvement cycle in recent versions. Kaleidoscope offers complete bevel button and pop-up window support under Mac OS 8, a complete set of custom folders for each scheme, and an easier way to switch schemes (just double-click 'em). Version 1.8.2 is a maintenance release that fixes a bug could cause crashes when quitting applications under Mac OS 8.1. Several other minor bugs have also been fixed.
