From Joe Stenger and Arlo Rose :Kaleidoscope is a powerful utility that gives your Macintosh a complete visual overhaul, letting you choose from thousands of different interface designs using plug-in files called schemes. Kaleidoscope patches nearly all of the Macintosh interface, including the basic windows, scroll bars, menus, and buttons under System 7, as well as the new pop-up windows, tabs, beveled buttons, and sliders in Mac OS 8. Kaleidoscope 2.0 (known as K2) was a huge step forward in interface customization. In addition to running old Kaleidoscope schemes faster and more reliably and using less RAM, version 2.0 offered nonrectangular windows, enhanced menus, background patterns, double-headed scroll bars, tabs, sliders, cursors, and many other enhancements.
Kaleidoscope 2.2.3 adds a few enhancements and fixes several bugs, including a conflict with RealPlayer 7.0 that caused crashes when quitting, conflicts with DoubletScan, AMP Radio, Chem3D, EIMS Admin, and much more. To view all changes, click here.
