After a slow start, Kaleid-O-Space rewards your patience with a gorgeous simulation of kaleidoscope viewing. In our testing, it took a bit longer than most screensavers we've seen to load up, so don't panic if you see a black screen for a while. Once the screensaver starts, it dazzles you with shifting colors. Each kaleidoscope image zooms in from a distance, and the bigger it becomes, the slower the images move. The kaleidoscopes are stunning, like giant fireworks. When you click the left mouse button, the kaleidoscope closes and flies away while another approaches. You can set the mouse to interact with the screensaver or to disable it. A number of settings let you customize the experience, including adjusting transition times and adding in "beings of light." This is a good screensaver for those who appreciate less tangible images.
