Kriptus protects the content of Microsoft Word documents and Outlook e-mails, although we'd like it to cover other applications as well. This handy program integrates itself conveniently onto your Word and Outlook toolbars. Simply select the text, choose Cypher, and create a password. You can select certain portions of text to be transposed, assigning each a different password. Deciphering the information is just as easy: highlight the scrambled text, enter the password, and the data is revealed.
The program worked fast and was easy to use; unfortunately, some programs including other Microsoft Office applications can't benefit from its security. Nonetheless, it provides security when distributing confidential documents or e-mails.
