Don't let the dull name fool you: Internet Download Manager is a full-featured package that handles downloading tasks with aplomb. It conveniently integrates into your browser, even if you use Mozilla or Opera.
It automatically sorts incoming files by file type and puts them in the appropriate folder. Most importantly, it supercharges download speeds (it doubled ours). Its windowed interface is clean and easy to understand. Power users can take advantage of the command line interface to resume file transfers, schedule downloads, connect through dial-up, or log on to password-protected sites. Experienced users also can limit the number of connections, the download speeds for specific sites, and even create an exception list to block specific, user-defined sites.
Other features include automatic virus checking and the ability to download all files linked to a page. The new version has a Web spider that can analyze a site and retrieve, for example, all the images on it.
Internet Download Manager strikes us as a natural choice for users in need of a trusty transfer tool. Version 5.11 build 5 added FLV grabber that can be used to download videos from YouTube, Google Video, MySpaceTV, and other popular sites.

Pros: This product allows you to download things in chunks which will maximize your download speed. I went from an average of 90kbs to 500kbs!!!!!! Also, it picksup on lost downloads (which I dont get anymore after installing this, but before I got lost downloads EVERYTIME)
Cons: Only thing that I didn't like was that it put itself in startup and windows. But its well worth it seems like

Pros: After using this for a few days there is no doubt that it does what it says it does. Unlike many other programs this one gets it all done. It is extremely easy to use and best of all is the download speed!
No joke this sped up my downloads by literally 5 times!!! I read the reviews here and thought why not see if they are right. My download speed went up from an average of 24kb/s to 130kb/s. I will not hesitate to buy this program. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Pros: When I had read all this complains about spyware I decided to check it myself. I am security expert and often check programs for such things. And I should proclaim that IDM is clear! None of my programs detected any spyware or adware. I do not know what people here talking about, but you can prove it yourself. Just use Ad-Aware and it will confirm my words.

Pros: This software i used it with Windows XP Profesional an i dont have any problems. This is very good for dail-up users. I recommend it
