Don't let the dull name fool you: Internet Download Manager is a full-featured package that handles downloading tasks with aplomb. It conveniently integrates into your browser, even if you use Mozilla or Opera.
It automatically sorts incoming files by file type and puts them in the appropriate folder. Most importantly, it supercharges download speeds (it doubled ours). Its windowed interface is clean and easy to understand. Power users can take advantage of the command line interface to resume file transfers, schedule downloads, connect through dial-up, or log on to password-protected sites. Experienced users also can limit the number of connections, the download speeds for specific sites, and even create an exception list to block specific, user-defined sites.
Other features include automatic virus checking and the ability to download all files linked to a page. The new version has a Web spider that can analyze a site and retrieve, for example, all the images on it.
Internet Download Manager strikes us as a natural choice for users in need of a trusty transfer tool. Version 5.11 build 5 added FLV grabber that can be used to download videos from YouTube, Google Video, MySpaceTV, and other popular sites.
Publisher's description
From Tonec :Internet Download Manager is a tool for increasing download speeds by up to 5 times, and for resuming, scheduling, and organizing downloads. The program will resume unfinished downloads due to network problems, or unexpected power outages. The program features a full-fledged site grabber that downloads files that are specified with filters, for example, all pictures from a Web site, different parts of web sites, or complete web sites for offline browsing. The program has an adaptive download accelerator for MP3 audio files, and MPEG video content processing. It integrates into any application that uses FTP, or HTTP protocols.
Version 5.02 build 7 adds a full-fledged site grabber.

"Does Exactly what it says on the tin."
Pros: This is a really great product for you if you keep on expearincing dowload lag or your downlaods are going extremely slow.
Internet Download manager keeps the download speed conststant unlike internet explorer. if the speed drops it brings it back up again.
IDM works by downloading form as mouch resources as possible. hence the download speed increases.
Before IDM my a average speed 70KBps now with IDM it averages about 130KBps. Downloads are really fast!!
ON THE WHOLE: if you are looking for a software that increases download speed
YOU JUST FOUND IT!!!
Cons: Take up RAM unneccessery if you are not using it so i suggest that you turn it off and when you start to download it turns it self on automaticly.
It should have a button for letting your browser download. its really annoying when you have to download a small file, and you have to wait for it to start up.
THANK YOU FOR READING MY REVIEW
I hope it helps. :)

"Dont think twice: Spare your bandwidth!!"
Pros: IDM rocks: anyone reading this comment, dont think twice and lose your time trying any other software in the family of download accelerators;i have tried all of them. IDM is the best, believe me!!
It does not consume much RAM and loads quickly. It is highly versatile, easy to use and highly configurable. I love this software. Site Grabber (another great function of IDM) allows you to download a whole website or download specifics files from a website or more (depending of levels-that's simple if you have an IQ comparable to the silliest person on earth, lol)). Site Grabber beats Offline Explorer Pro 4.0 by a long straw, in that, first,I don't need to use two different software and secondly, I can manage the downloaded stuffs. IDM, the one and only: keep rocking, good job the staff!! Foster more time in the integration of IDM in mozilla though- I damn need that "Download all links" which is present in IE but not in mozilla firefox :)
Cons: FIREFOX : NOT MUCH INTEGRATION: IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE THE "DOWNLOAD ALL LINKS" FUNCTION FOR MOZILLA AS WELL!!
