Publisher's description of Internet Download Manager 4.03 build 5
From Tonec:Internet Download Manager is a tool for increasing download speeds and for resuming, scheduling, and organizing downloads. The program will resume unfinished downloads due to lost connections, network problems, or unexpected power outages. It can connect to the Internet at a set time, download the files you want, and disconnect or shut down your computer when it's done. It supports FTP, HTTP, and SHTTP protocols, MP3 audio files, and MPEG video-content processing.
Version 4.03 build 5 revises the Download with IDM feature for Internet Explorer, features improved download-link-capturing logic, adds download-link capturing from antileech plug-ins, and adds protection from faulty registry cleaners.

- Version reviewed: Internet Download Manager 4.03 build 5
Don't let the dull name fool you: Internet Download Manager is a full-featured package that handles downloading tasks with aplomb. It conveniently integrates into your browser, even if you use Mozilla or Opera.
It automatically sorts incoming files by file type and puts them in the appropriate folder. Most importantly, it supercharges download speeds (it doubled ours). Its windowed interface is clean and easy to understand. Power users can take advantage of the command line interface to resume file transfers, schedule downloads, connect through dial-up, or log on to password-protected sites. Experienced users also can limit the number of connections, the download speeds for specific sites, and even create an exception list to block specific, user-defined sites.
Other features include automatic virus checking and the ability to download all files linked to a page. The new version has a Web spider that can analyze a site and retrieve, for example, all the images on it.
Internet Download Manager strikes us as a natural choice for users in need of a trusty transfer tool. Version 5.11 build 5 added FLV grabber that can be used to download videos from YouTube, Google Video, MySpaceTV, and other popular sites.

Version: Internet Download Manager 4.03 build 5
"Excellent download manager, but no Linux version"
Pros: Very fast downloading, ability to resume, handles multiple concurrent downloads, download scheduling, etc.
Cons: Unfortunately, this product is only available for Windows, not Mac or Linux. Since I am moving away from Microsoft OS's and applications, this is an issue. After three years of begging, I gave up and went to another download manager that does support other platforms besides Microcra$h.

Version: Internet Download Manager 4.03 build 5
Pros: This program is the best download manager around, not to mention the most stable and fastest. One more thing i would like to add: this program is ment to sned all of your downloading speed to the download, it is made so that it makes your browser extremely slow, but the speed is not harmed at all by using your browser

"Great Speed and an easy interface for any new or advanced user to get comfy with"
Pros: I really enjoyed this new Internet Download manager, its incredibly fast and very easy to use. It has virus scanning which is a very good option, but its lacking some controls for the downloads. I really found this product is better than GetRight, and far better than Download accelerator. This is a must if you download lots of files.
