From WestByte Software :Internet Download Accelerator is an easy-to-use and effective download manager that makes downloading from three to five times faster and allows to resume downloads even after power supply failures or problems with your connection. IDA lets you conveniently manage downloads by orginizing them in categories with automatic category detection option. The option to listen to/view audio/video files as early as download starts will let you filter out unwanted content immediately. Another feature is the original Active Visual Cart technology which significantly improves your download experience by giving you quick access to the most useful program features without opening the main program window. To increase usability and effectiveness IDA provides a number of features: Advanced Scheduler, FTP Explorer, browse ZIP archives before downloading, plug-ins support, multilanguage interface, download entire folders via FTP. IDA integrates into all popular browsers.
Version 5.1.2.1051 adds "Find mirrors" option, ability to check MD5 sum of downloaded files.

Pros: Internet Download Accelerator is one of the Top 5 Download manager, I believe that he comes in the second rank. This download manager has a great integration with all types of internet browsers. And here is a secret for you all, Internet Download Accelerator can capture any download from Download.com faster than any other download manager.

Version: Internet Download Accelerator 5.1.2.1051
Pros: It speeds up downloads a lot. It's also great for resuming broken downloads. I like the ability to shut down the PC automatically after the download(s) are finished as it means you dont have to sit and wait untill a large file is downloaded to manually turn off the PC. I've often left files over 400mb downloading before I went to bed and didnt have to worry about the PC being left on all night wasting electricity. The site manager and download scheduler are handy too. There are regular updates and its improving all the time.
Cons: I've found that since getting Windows Vista it doesnt intercept all downloads and I have to either click on the link and select copy shortcut which may automatically launch IDA or else I have to open the program myself and click on add download (althogh it is handy that when you do click on add download the link that is in the clipboard automatically appears there).

"Done little on my 'Dial-Up' server."
Cons: OK as a download manager, however slower than a direct connection through Windows Explorer.
