This straightforward and feature-rich download manager is a good choice for active surfers and those on dial-up connections. In our tests, Internet Download Accelerator raised the download speed by up to three times. The neat interface offers several ways to start retrieving a file: clicking a link in your browser, copying the URL to the Clipboard, or dragging the download to a semitransparent floating window. The interface also displays the download speed and lets you control downloads. You can arrange retrieved files into folders depending on their extensions and sources, grab HTML pages, and peek at the contents of ZIP archives to see whether you want to download the files. The program is accessible via a system-tray icon or a browser toolbar. When running in the background, the utility doesn't take much memory. The program supports Internet Explorer, Mozilla, and Opera browsers. Dial-up users should appreciate Internet Download Accelerator's ability to automatically establish and maintain connections or to schedule downloads overnight.Publisher's description
From WestByte Software :This download manager can increase download speeds by up to 500 percent. It uses intellectual, multisection download technology to provide performance for all connection types, resumes broken downloads, and supports FTP, HTTP, and SHTTP protocols, firewalls, proxy servers, cookies, redirects, authorizations, and many platforms and servers. IDA lets you conveniently manage downloads by organizing them in categories with an automatic-category-detection option. The category list has drag-and-drop possibilities for download management. Another feature is the original Active Visual Cart technology, which significantly improves your download experience by giving you quick access to the most useful program features. IDA integrates into IE, Firefox, Mozilla, and Opera. Version 4.1.2 includes improved program speed and stability, an option "Redial if speed is lower than:" added to dialer, added option to set "Low" priority for downloads, added new button to the toolbar: "Dial", support for multi-user environment extended, appeared possibilty for users with restricted accounts to work with IDA on Windows XP, added back-up of technical information for files bigger than 10 MB, added option to insert download description from clipboard by double-clicking in download description window, program settings window redesigned, minor user interface improvements, added Persian, Bulgarian, Bosnian and Lithuanian languages, and various bug fixes.
Program includes FTP Explorer.

Version: Internet Download Accelerator 4.1.2
Pros: I have Highspeed Broadband,(T1), so all my downloads were fast. But, I thought since IDA had a free trial, I would give it a whirl. You know, I was amazed at the increase in my download speed. I'm guessing atleast 100 PERCENT FASTER. Also, anyone who thinks they got spyware from IDA,had the infection before they installed IDA. I give Internet Download Accelerator 5 Stars and TWO thumbs UP! PS, on my screen,I can only see 4 stars that are working. It's suppose to be 5 stars, and I can,t get the fifth star to work,or maybe I'm just going blind.

Version: Internet Download Accelerator 4.1.2
"Best download manager available!!!"
Pros: Intuitive, straightforward interface. Fast downloads, increases ordinary speed up to 2-3 times. Suitable price, too. I compared it with ReGet Deluxe and it has more browser integration features. ReGet Deluxe failed to integrate with any of the browsers selected. And ReGet Deluxe is more expensive, but more unsatisfactory. IDA is also more configurable, and easier to configure. It even has preset sounds. RGD may have the option to use sounds, but you have to get your own. IDA has its own. Don't waste your money on ReGet Deluxe, get IDA now!!!
Cons: None, actually. It's the best and so far I haven't encountered any bugs. I just hope they would enrich the FTP browser more.

Version: Internet Download Accelerator 4.1.2
Pros: This one has really impressed me. No spywares, no adwares (DAP contains adware). Boosts download speed, as it claims. Interface is good and easy to understand. Icons are better than IDM. Integrates well with internet explorer. Highly custumizable. Get it now !
Cons: Integration with Firefox and Opera is not as good as IDMs. I recommend IDM (Internet Download Manager) to Firefox users. IDA sometimes misses downloads and download starts using Firefox's builtin download manager (even if u use FlashGot). Otherwise a very good software for Internet Explorer users.

Version: Internet Download Accelerator 4.1.2
Pros: This is the best download manager I have ever used EVER!
Cons: Microsoft anti-spyware told me that the buttons it installs in your browser have something to do with coolwebsearch, but dont let that put you off as it may just be playing up.

Version: Internet Download Accelerator 4.1.2
Pros: Fast downloads, small memory footprint. Easy to configure.
Cons: IDA's uninstaller is a joke. When I removed the program the integration dll's had to be removed manually.
