I love Incredimail. But my CPU is 8 yrs old and I have Win XP Pro. Apparently, when you reach this age you can't download the new version. I got an email, after weeks of frustration, from Incredimail stating my OS & Win XP can only accepted version 2.5. So if you are trying to install the NEW Version 6 and it won't install, give it up. You are stuck with the edition you got. No Upgrade!

Perion / Incredimail is not to be trusted! Let me explain why (I hate to do this, but feel the public has to know their standards)
I purchased Incredimail on Thursday, April 18, 2013 6:18 PM. to trial the pro version, as that's what they suggested, it did not perform as I wanted, I disliked some of the functions and the customer support is extremely slow. I bought it and found I did not like it, so requested a refund 1 or 2 days after the purchase. A week after the purchase I received a reply to my pre-sales question, 4 days after that I got a reply to my question regarding an issue I was having the day after I bought it.
I followed their, "The Risk-Free Trial Period for all IncrediMail products is 30 days." and requested a refund and got no refund and no reply to my email. so sent another on Thursday, May 02, 2013 6:20 PM and again got no reply or refund, and again on Wednesday, May 08, 2013 9:26 AM and once again no refund or reply to my email!Summary
Be careful!! I have no idea even if they are going to charge me for the next year as its a yearly subscription they have. DO NOT BUY A SUBSCRIPTION IT! THEIR VIP SUPPORT IS NONE EXISTENT!

My parents clicked animated emoticon in an email they received, and did not realize that they were committing to install Incredimail.
It found their gmail password and user name from somewhere in their computer, and it went onto the pop server and popped out all their mail without their permission.
I believe that I will be able to recover their mail, it should be in gmail in the "all mail" section, from what I gather.
The version they were tricked into installs IB Updater in Google Chrome which one can only delete if they are clever enough to delete the "new tab" extension.
It installs Incredibar, and Web Assistant. Perhaps the CNET version does not do that.
People who RECEIVE your emails -- even if you have a clean version of incredimail, will be tricked into downloading adware, and into losing their email unless they continue to use incredimail.Summary
Even if this version does not have adware your recipients will be tricked into losing their email and installing adware.

I have owned incredimail since it's inception probably 18 years I absolutely loved this program. I make Incredimail stationary and I made skins for the XE Version. It was so very different. I eventually had to change to IM2 but the 1st few versions were okay.
NOW???? OMG Incredimail2 when it 1st came out was complicated enough now with every new release comes more changes. I don't even recognize the program now. Recently my desktop went to the shop for repair. I was using an older version of IM2, I used my son's laptop as a replacement in the meantime and installed the most recent version of IM2. What was I using. There were duplicate folders and then they add syncing which then prevented you from doing anything else. They will not bounce emails. There is no outbox with a send button. I got my machine back from the shop and put an original XE version back on. It's just as I remember it and I will not change again. If I ever have to I will be uninstalling. -

You can not customize the installer, so it installs things that you don't want... When I tried to uninstall, the uninstaller failed so I had to use Revo Uninstaller and perform a force uninstall...

I purchased the lifetime membership years ago along with the Gold package and all though I am not sure why I cannot download anything new I am still able to get tech support very fast.

I had to redo my computer and when I downloaded incredimail I didn't realize the headache 2.5 would be. Wouldn't work, wouldn't check my e-mail nothing. But......
Summary
I contacted tech support and they gave me a link (also found on their user forum) to remove all traces of incredimail and I was able to download 2.0. Yet it wouldn't reinstall until I again went to the forum and saw that I had to delete the temp files. 2.0 installed wonderfully and now I am back in business! So happy. I love incredimail and it is so user friendly. I tried Outlook 2007 and think I need ot go to college to use it.

NO SERVICE, HIJACKING software included, no service to honest questions about the operation of their program, if you pay extra
for the VIP service they charge you another $30+ to talk to some one
( per issue) and they still will not respond with an answer to your
issue even though they promised they would ( they had to check into to the problem)but they did take receipt of your money.Summary
Other than what is mentioned above. I have had incredimail for years.
I payed them extra for several of their frills and now I find that their policy is to abandon those payments and charge you more for the same frills that you already payed for, also I find that alot
of what I paid for is being deleted as I try to use it, so I can pay for it some more. They will not respond to your inquiries even after several attempts and waiting several of months for a reply.
They bypass your spam and pop up blockers on your browser to give you messages of pay more your computer.
Whereas adding the emoticons and sound to your email maybe fun the recipient of your email usually see or hear nothing but a plain
email ( not what you intended ), but they get a advertisement get incredimail and a attachment, I now question whether or not are we sending some hijacking software to our friends for their marketing clients.
They have well thought out a way to keep their adds and unwanted
garbage on their toolbar(they add without your permission), to remove them you have to go into their tools folder and click show
NOT hide for them to be hidden and out of view. You can get the toolbar hidden, but I doubt that it is removed or is inactive.
I could go on and on and use the 15000 characters allowed in this space but I will summarize this program this way. If you want to go through all the effort to put the frills on your email but few people will see it, allow them total access to your computer for their marketing and advertising programs, with NO service and in some instints charge you for NO service. This is the program for you.
WITH ALL THE REVEWS ON THIS SITE ABOUT INCREDIMAIL AND A 2.5 RATING AND GOING DOWN, I AM SUPRISED THAT C/NET ALLOWS THE DOWNLOAD

Very easy to use. Like the ability to add backgrounds, pictures, etc.
Cons
Major con: With the latest 2.5 version, Incredimail installs Incredibar without user consent. This is NOT the "MyStart" junk that you are given the option to not install. Incredibar (aka: IB updater) hi-jacks your new tab/search in Chrome. It's also tricky to get rid of :( Even after uninstalling it in Programs, it is still there. I have stumbled on the fix after a good amount of searching though (See below in summary)
Summary
I have been using Incredimail for many years. I will continue to use it, but the latest version is a true disappointment. Really don't like them sneaking in something that hijacks my new tab page! To remove it...you need to go into Chrome tools, then extensions. Delete IB updater and DELETE "NEW TAB IN CHROME" (that's the one that stumped me for awhile! Without that step, it won't go away.
btw...I only use the free version ;)
I truly hope that Incredimail actually reads these reviews and will take steps to remove this "secret" junk from their software. Their reputation (which used to be 5 stars) has nosedived for me.
