From the developer: "Iconoid is a desktop icon management tool with which you can change icon text and background colors, make text backgrounds transparent, hide icons when you don't need them and see them when you do (based on mouse pointer location). Iconoid can automatically determine the optimal text background color based on your current wallpaper or you can select your own color from a color box or directly from your current wallpaper. Iconoid also saves and restores icon positions when your screen resolution changes."
