Publisher's description
From Stardock :IconPackager is a desktop-enhancement utility that lets you change all the common icons used by Windows at once by applying "packages" of icons to them. You can download these packages at Web sites such as WinCustomize.com or create your own by replacing the icons of individual items on your computer one by one, then saving them as an icon package. It's very easy to use and has thousands of icons available in packages on the Net.
Version 4.1 adds support for many new Windows Vista icons and better shell integration.

"bad reviews, group icon in lieu of individual"
Pros: Couldn't tell if there were any--refused to get involved after download-immediately uninstalled.

Summary: Trials should be identified as trial offers, not for free...

"Corrupted my explorer.exe files. Aaargh!!"
Pros: Good icon packages. Easy to use; though not for a novice. You better read all the instructions in their "help" section before even getting started.
Cons: I still run XP pro and the icons for "recent documents" and "my computer" and "desktop" revert back to Windows default as soon as any of those folders are accessed; sort of defeats the purpose of changing them in the first place!
Summary: I paid $20 and after hours of searching user forums, downloading other software, doing manually workarounds to actually replace the offending icons within the Shell32.dll folder, iI was finally able to change all my icons to my liking. I didn't rea... read more >>

Version: IconPackager 4.1
"Good but guilty of omissions in "Limitations" field."
Pros: Great - for a limited time I can try out all those cool Stardock and WinCustomize Icon Packs I've been salivating over.
Cons: Recoloring appears to be disabled, as does using the Icon tab added to a file's Properties. And several other limitations not reported.
Summary: So... There's a lot you can do with this for the trial period, but I really wish Stardock had been up-front about how many and which features are broken for the trial version.
Hardly seems like I'm really getting an opportunity to get to... read more >> - See all 3 user reviews Write review
