From Newera :IconCool Icon Editor is an icon editor that has all the functions for creating and editing ICO, ANI, CUR, GIF, JPEG, WMF, EMF, TGA, and WBMP files. You can convert images in 25 formats to icons, and you can modify or replace icon images in EXE, DLL, ICL, or any other format directly. The program includes 60 image filters, including blurring, sharpening, embossing, diffusing, and color balance. It has 15 image effects, including linear gradient, radial gradient, rectangular gradient, WAV, 3D shadow, 3D button, text gradient effects, noise, and arbitrary rotation. It has a smart image-capturing tool, which can be used to capture various-size images from desktops or from any other software. It supports Windows XP icons in 32-bit color depth with an alpha channel, and now you can create semitransparent XP icons.

"Great Product...Support the worst I have seen in 18 years of owning a computer"
Pros: Easy to use...Love it
Cons: I have own this product since 2001. Everytime I have had to reinstall the product the previous passwords do not work. Expect to wait 3 days to a week to get a new password in order to register the product. At present the registration for previous customers has not worked since the first of the year. Since January 07 I have been unable to use the product that I paid for. You can see that on there registration page. Numerous contacts go unanswered..including the owners. I would tell you that until they get there act together..STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT!!

"worth downloading and trying"
Pros: The program is very easy to use, and allows you to create icons of various sizes, various colour depths, and with or without transparency. I tried about many icon programs and finally chose this was the one. I have used iconcool editor more than 2 years and like its cool design and rich set of features very much .Especially the Windows XP-style icons with alpha channel. Keep the good work!
Cons: The interface should be improved, not friendly.
