Search through your system's host file and remove duplicate entries. Your host file allows you to block sites of your choice by IP or name. In version 2.2, you now have the ability to add, change, and delete entries, as well as the ability to remove all duplicate entries found in the Windows host file. If any mistakes are made while editing the Windows host file, HFC 2.2 has the ability to undo your last mistake.

This application provides a simple tool for managing entries in your Windows' hosts files. Host File Checker has a straightforward interface to scan, modify, and delete duplicate entries. After deletion, the program provides a brief summary of total number of hosts in a file, number of duplicates, and the number left after removal. If you accidentally delete an entry, the program can easily undo the changes you've done. The program has a fast search utility and includes other features such as opening the hosts file with Notepad and changing the interface's transparency. Though you could manually edit host files, intermediate users and above will find Host File Checker an efficient time-saver.
