Been using it for months and only just realized its ALTERING my HTML pages and adding ADVERTS and LINKS to their own and customer sites !!!!

DO NOT, DO NOT DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL. Ridiculous, shameful, business practices. They should be ashamed of themselves. No-one in their right mind would agree to this if they read the fine print where I'm sure its mentioned. So basically this company is just cheating people and making money off it at that. Joke !! Please spread the word.

1 - it is a spyware, it adds advertisment html links into your PHP scripts.
2 - It keeps and Uses your FTP user name and password to download your PHP scripts to its servers as well uploads its spyware scripts randomly to your server.Summary
If you have installed goftp make sure that you uninstall it IMMEDIATELY. contact your hosting company and immediately change your FTP password. These guys at GOFTP are really Idiots How can you develop such a nice lite FTP software program and then you spoil it by installing spyware and trojans.

Go ftp tries to modify my OLEPRO32.dll when I install. Could be the ad code you are talking about.
There is no uninstaller included... trying to find a way to uninstall the program right now.
I did a ftp upload test with 50 mb of random data. FileZilla 3.2.2.1 was 5 seconds faster than go ftp... -

This is hands down the worst FTP program I have ever used. This is one shaddy company to add links on every file you upload that are hidden to some horrible website only to hurt your rankings by boosting theirs.

. It does not create an entry on the windows program list.. you have to manually create a shortcut for it. It baffles me that they would go to the trouble of developing this, and not use a proper installer.

I don't know what buffer overstuffing is but I can tell you I have never seen an ftp program move so fast. WOW!
Cons
I would like the program to remember the last directory I was in, instead of starting off at the same place every time.

They don't mention that they alter each of your pages w a tiny ad at the bottom -- they grab a snippet of whatever is targeted on your page and claim that more info on it is available and then "Secure SFTP and FTPS provided by FREE GoFTP Client." No disclosure and no mention anywhere on their site (NOTE: it could be in fine print in the license agreement, but you'll never be able to see that again after install and it appears nowhere on their site) Although the ads might be less than completely intrusive, their dishonesty with this simplest of things should convince you to steer clear.
