FrostWire is a fork of the LimeWire source code, and as such, it functions exactly the same. When you search for a file using FrostWire, you get results from LimeWire, and vice versa.
However, the user experience differs in two ways. One is that the code is actually based on LimeWire Pro, the paid version of the popular P2P client, so users don't have to worry about simultaneous download restrictions, and they won't get bombarded by ads. Also, befitting the name, the interface has changed from green to blue and has been slightly improved. Tabs have rounded corners, and there are two additions, as well. Connections monitors your outgoing and incoming connections by host name, but also provides bandwidth information, the vendor and version being used, and more. There's also a built-in community chat.
When we tested it, the built-in media player in FrostWire didn't work with MP3s or MPGs, although those files worked fine in LimeWire and elsewhere. The app also comes bundled with the ASK toolbar, but you can opt out of that during the installation process. While some people have experienced faster download times with FrostWire compared with its parent, others have not. FrostWire and LimeWire are practically indistinguishable, although the lack of ads is a big plus.

I went to there website and did what they said to get rid of all that IPod message stuff and now it comes up that there not enough sources.

None, it's gone down hill since the updates. You used to be able to find your fav music with an artist search or even just the name of the song. Now it's all junk!
Cons
It's a spam box for someone who wants to spend hours just blocking the same IP's over and over again. There's no way to get around it and you just end up wasting hours looking for a song that doesn't exist on FW.
Summary
Go somewhere else. It doesn't download good and even with adjustments to the settings you cannot get anything but spam!

The application works and seems quite functional for a free download.
Cons
I find it is less the application as a problem but the files being shared now days seem like a crap shoot. Under most searches either no or few real results show and many are junk files.
Summary
The P2P software is fine as it goes but the availability of good files and of specific files searched is diminishing all the time.

Impossible to do all the "choices" for files window...I"ve filled it out ten times, and the Frostwire site just won't open. I assume I'm doing it wrong, but Frostwire doesn't give the promised "prompts" to help fill out the defaults, browses, etc..
Summary
If I can ever open this program on my new computer, like I was able to open and use it on my old computer, I will be happy. I don't expect any help from Frostwire, because most of these reviews are never read anyway......I'll probably end up downloading another pnp site and say a permanent "goodbye" to Frostwire. On the other hand, they could surprise me, read this, and help a loyal customer figure out how to use their program. Let's see what REALLY happens.......

Quality of the files that are available are usually quite good.
Cons
Too many selections are false. Most of what is listed at a 320 bit rate are actually a Frostwire warning and you don't know it until the download is complete.
Summary
Time to look for a P2P application that eliminates all the false listings, it's totally annoying. I haven't found any real good ones that have such an extellent user interface but again, the false listing cancel out the interface.
