Publisher's description of FrostWire 4.13.3
From FrostWire:FrostWire is a fork of the very popular LimeWire PRO Gnutella/Bittorrent client. The purpose of FrostWire is to keep and maintain the freedoms that LimeWire LLC may be forced to withdraw. Share any type of file on Gnutella and the Bittorrent network. Version 4.13.3 optimizes startup time, and includes new update system.
Note: This software comes with ASK toolbar, that can be installed or uninstalled at the user's choice.

- Version reviewed: FrostWire 4.13.3
FrostWire is a fork of the LimeWire source code, and as such, it functions exactly the same. When you search for a file using FrostWire, you get results from LimeWire, and vice versa.
However, the user experience differs in two ways. One is that the code is actually based on LimeWire Pro, the paid version of the popular P2P client, so users don't have to worry about simultaneous download restrictions, and they won't get bombarded by ads. Also, befitting the name, the interface has changed from green to blue and has been slightly improved. Tabs have rounded corners, and there are two additions, as well. Connections monitors your outgoing and incoming connections by host name, but also provides bandwidth information, the vendor and version being used, and more. There's also a built-in community chat.
When we tested it, the built-in media player in FrostWire didn't work with MP3s or MPGs, although those files worked fine in LimeWire and elsewhere. The app also comes bundled with the ASK toolbar, but you can opt out of that during the installation process. While some people have experienced faster download times with FrostWire compared with its parent, others have not. FrostWire and LimeWire are practically indistinguishable, although the lack of ads is a big plus.

Version: FrostWire 4.13.3
Pros: When you search with LimeWire, you might get what you want, but a lot of stuff with irrelevant names that to not relate to your search whatsoever also come up. With FrostWire, the left-hand panel is actually really useful in fixing this problem. When you click on a filter, the list changes and leaves a very long list of what's leftover. Did I mention how many more results you get?

"Great, Best I have ever seen!"
Pros: It is a limewire pro version for free! It is very fast with many search results. It is also easy to use. It also has free chat rooms too.
Cons: Can't configure chat to run with proxy sever. Chat doesn't block bad words.

Version: FrostWire 4.13.3
"Frostwire or Limewire? Apart from minor things. SAME speed SAME everything"
Pros: Appears to be equal to Limewire Pro, but is FREE. Has a couple minor changes like colour, the word "the" is not recognised (a good thing) possibly others. Interfaces well with Limewire's Complete and Incomplete files. It's free and worth about 4 3/4 stars.
Cons: It gave me an "ASK" toolbar that I didn't ask for which is an utter pain in the B__t and crashed my browsers. Deleted the sub-program, now back to normal. precious download.
