True to its name, this program spruces up your desktop by randomly changing your wallpaper. The interface is nicely designed and logically arranged, though we wish we could resize the main window. Fresh Desktop lets you import various images and specify how often the program should randomly switch among them.

It would be nice if you could change wallpaper more than once an hour or schedule certain images to appear at designated times. To make up for this, Fresh Desktop offers an integrated utility that can quickly download all images from a particular site. You'll also find a feature that can turn any images imported into the program into a screensaver. We appreciated this tool's 150 transition effects, but wished you could select them in the Control Panel by name.

Instead, you'll have to read the help manual to find the appropriate numerical code. While not as powerful as it could be, Fresh Desktop can help home users automate the task of regularly changing their wallpaper.
